- Wheat Rx Seminar and Field Day coming to Phillipsburg
The next upcoming Wheat Rx Seminar & Field Day will take place on May 23, 2024, at the Phillips County Wheat Plots and Huck Boyd Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas, in cooperation with the Phillips Rooks Extension District.
Speakers will discuss breeding efforts for high protein wheat; wheat varieties and management trials; and fertility management for high yield, protein and profit.
“We cannot change the impact of weather on each year’s crop, but we can arm wheat producers with the knowledge they need to maximize profitability through utilizing the genetic potential of new varieties and best management practices,” said Aaron Harries, vice president of research and operations for Kansas Wheat.
This program is part of Wheat Rx, a partnership between Kansas Wheat and K-State Research and Extension to disseminate the latest research recommendations for high-yielding and high-quality wheat to Kansas wheat farmers. Wheat Rx includes a series of Extension publications and other educational outreach designed to address key management areas of hard winter wheat. These publications contain recent data based on novel research funded in part by wheat farmers through the Kansas Wheat check-off.
