- KWIC hosts K-State Ag Tour
KWIC hosted the tour group during the first afternoon when participants met with Kansas Wheat, Earth’s Harvest and Heartland Plant Innovations. Participants learned about the development and purpose of KWIC and the innovative wheat research that takes place in its labspace and greenhouses.
The group toured the facilities and asked experts questions about the crop that Kansas is most known for. The K-State Ag Tour also visited facilities on campus, the International Grains Program and the new Kansas Department of Agriculture building. Topics of discussion throughout the tour included agricultural research taking place at the university, the growth of the College of Agriculture and the need for new teaching and research facilities on campus.
