(Wayne & Mildred had been married 50+ years by that time!)
Dean Harder My Mennonite ancestors were among those who brought the Turkey Red Wheat to Kansas. My Grandfather was a farmer near Meade. Mary Anne Stoskopf One of our favorite wheat harvest stories is when Bill Spiegel stopped by one of our fields and walked out to the old Massey combine. Paula Letholt Blasi Driving the wheat truck every summer growing up was so much fun. Summer of 1968 we got our picture in the paper. The wheat harvest crew of Paul and Ray Letholt had a different look from the usual gang of harvest hands but they got the job done anyway. Driving the trucks while their dad‘s operated combines were Gayle, Linda, Renee, and Paula. Gayle and Renee’ are Ray’s daughters and Paul is the father of Linda and Paula. So who needs boys for wheat harvest?
